Listening With: Workshops

An embodied exploration of rivers and other bodies of waters as living entities with history, memory, and rights. Participants of all ages engage in embodied storytelling to imagine new possibilities for relating to land and water that are rooted in care and collective responsibility. Grounded in the principles of the Rights of Nature, the session reframes nature not as a resource, but as a neighbor, a relative, and a carrier of history. Participants are invited to listen through their bodies, memories, and imaginations, cultivating new relationships with each other and the river in order to collectively author a “River Bill of Rights.”

Offerings range from 90-minute workshops to multi-day and weeklong intensives, adaptable for youth, intergenerational groups, schools, universities, community organizations, and public programming.
